Cecil Dean Shafer, son of Raymond Mitchell and Beulah Estella (Arndt) was born in Alva, Oklahoma, on October 17, 1938. He passed away on July 9, 2020, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 22 days.
Cecil was a graduate of Alva High School. He married Delores Marie (Chick) on March 16, 1956. He worked as an auto mechanic at Washburn Motor in Alva for 35 years. He loved to fish, enjoyed working on cars and loved his cats.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delores, his brothers: Jess, Raymond Jr., Gerald and Johnny, two sisters, Velma and Verla.
He is survived by, his children: Patricia, Linda, Carol, Christopher, James (Jim) and Teresa. He is also survived by his brother Allen, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Creature Concerns for the care of cats through Wharton Funeral Chapel.
