Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Alva First United Methodist Church with Reverend Terry Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Lois Lee, daughter of Ethel (Connery) and Clare Lee Toner was born on February 26, 1927, on a farm near Manchester, Oklahoma. She passed away suddenly at her home on the 9th day of September at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 14 days.

She attended the Wakita schools and graduated from high school in 1944. She then went with her sister to Kansas City to Weather School, and later returned to Alva to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Miss Toner was married to W.D. Rust at her parents’ farm near Manchester on March 14, 1947. To their marriage two children, Phillip and Jana were born.

They made their home in Capron until 1970 when they moved to Alva. They always had wheat crop and raised cattle.

Lois worked for Warrick's Shoe Store, Anthony’s and The Central National Bank, where she retired at the age of 71. She was a member of the Capron United Methodist Church, and then moved her membership to the Alva United Methodist Church. She played in two bridge clubs and retired from one in December of 2011. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of all her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Rust was preceded in death by her husband on August 11, 1992; her son on December 19, 2005; her parents; a sister, Dorothy McClung; and a brother, Edwin Toner.

Lois is survived by her daughter Jana and her husband Mark Schnebel of Enid; three grandchildren, Jason Rust Schnebel and his wife Kendra of Alva, Jill Schnebel of Austin Texas, and Ferran and her husband Tyler Weese of Blackwell; three great-grandchildren, Tanner Weese, Braden Weese and Keagan Rust Schnebel; a sister-in-law, Roberta Toner of Manchester, and a brother-in-law, Dan McClung of Blackwell; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church or the Capron Cemetery.
