Funeral services for Darrell Dean Reiman will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Hopeton Church, with pastor M.L. Hadsell officiating. Interment will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva.

Darrell Dean Reiman was born at home on June 5, 1935, in Alva to Herb and Esther (Parker) Reiman, and passed away on Aug. 14, 2014, at Share Convalescent Home in Alva at the age of 79.

Darrell grew up in Alva and graduated from Alva High School with the class of 1953. He served in the National Guard. Darrell worked in several auto shops in Alva, Hugoton, Kan., and Woodward. In Woodward, he was the shop foreman for Ferguson Ford.

While in Woodward, he met Eileen (Peil) Reiman. They were married April 17, 1971. They made their home in Woodward until 1974, when they moved to Alva to operate Herb’s Motor after the sudden death of Darrell’s dad, Herb Reiman. They later moved the business to a larger building and re-named it Reiman Motors.

Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR – including a trip to Texas Motor Speedway, and traveling to the mountains, and had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Esther Reiman, along with a sister, Joyce Stevens.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen; three children, Nicole (Reiman) Towns and her husband Ric; Micah Reiman and his wife Katy; and Keith Reiman. Also surviving are his granddaughters Bethany Towns, Aubrey Towns, Hannah Reiman, Gracie Reiman, Cayenne Criswell and her son Cason; a sister, Imogene Allen; other relatives and friends.
