Alva – The funeral for Betty Lee Pfleider Prigmore, 75, will be 2 PM today at Alva First Baptist Church. Dr. Greg Hook, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel.
She was born February 4, 1928, in Driftwood to Eva M. Fry and John E. Gerber and died Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Alva Share Medical Center.
She attended Driftwood school and graduated from Burlington High School in 1946. She attended Northwestern State College and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company at Cherokee. On June 20, 1948, she married Elmer Eugene "Gene" Pfleider in Cherokee. They lived in Alva then in Great Bend, Kansas, before returning to Alva. He died May 6, 1990. She worked as a cook for Longfellow Elementary School in 1963, and in 1970 became food service director for Alva Public School System, retiring in 1993. She married Earl Prigmore on February 5, 1994, in Alva. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband, Earl of the home; one daughter, Nancy Horner of Stillwater; one son, Monty of Alva; four brothers, Lynn E. "Jerry" of Enid, Earl of Cleveland, Ohio, Richard of Orange, Virginia, and Ben E. of Topeka, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made to Alva First Baptist Church, Share Medical Center Foundation or to charity of donor's choice.
