The funeral for Ruby Alice Perks, 83, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
She was born July 29, 1923, in Woods County to Melvin and Martha Hacker Harding and died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at her home.
She attended school in Alva. She married Norman Silvanis Perks Aug. 4, 1944, in Dodge City, Kan. They made their home in the Alva area. She cleaned houses, offices and a laundry mat for many years. She attended Town and Country Christian Church.
Surviving are four sons, Al, Rick and Roy Perks, all of Alva, and Ray Perks of Chickasha; two daughters, Norma Swallow of Elmore City and Sherry Kirkpatrick of Guthrie; two brothers, Dean Harding of Amarillo, Texas, and Leonard Harding of Fritz, Texas; three sisters, Ada Cheslic of Alva, Betty Anderson of Pampa, Texas, and Ramona Muegge of Lamont; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, one son, four brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
