Services for Frank A. Murrow, 85, will be held at the Wharton Funeral Chapel at 10:30 AM Wednesday, with Rev. Carl W. Hawkins, pastor of the Alva Church of God, officiating.
Interment will be at Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Wharton Funeral Chapel.
Murrow died Sunday evening, September 2, 1984, in an Alva hospital.
He was born August 11, 1899, near Chester, in Oklahoma Territory to Mollie and Dean Murrow. The family moved to Waynoka, where young Murrow attended the Walnut Grove grade school. He then farmed and raised livestock in the same area.
On February 26, 1922, at Alva, he was married to Ada M. Graham. Mrs. Murrow died on June 28, of this year.
Following their marriage, they farmed southeast of Hopeton, until 1927, when they moved to a farm south of Ashley. In 1956, they came to Alva to make their home.
Murrow was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and four brothers. He is survived by his two daughters, Maxine (A. B.) Cochran of Cherokee and Phyllis Goss of Pratt, Kansas; two sons, Paul of Cherokee and Russell D. of Alva; 10 grandchildren and 17 great – grandchildren; and a sister, Blanche Bergersen of Alva.
