Graveside services for John Meyer will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Paul Kirk officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
John Clark Meyer, son of the late Leo August and Jessie Beulah (Clark) Meyer, was born July 13, 1944, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away March 13, 2023, at Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years and 8 months.
John graduated Alva High School and attended Oklahoma State University. He was an accomplished mechanic and taught auto mechanics at the Northwest Vo-Tech Center for many years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and loved racing cars and motorcycles. He also enjoyed flying airplanes, fishing and shooting.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Jessie.
He is survived by his children, Ronnie Meyer and wife, Raelyn, of Haysville, Kansas, Lynda Crocker and husband, Dan, of Laverne, and Rique Meyer of Enid; his brother, Kenny Meyer of Alva; his sister Sharon Sebranek and husband, Larry, of Covington; seven grandchildren, Kylee Pfleider and husband, Ky, of Alva, Kale Crocker and wife, Morgan, of Cashion, Calin Meyer and wife, Payton, of Goddard, Kansas, Jessica Robinson and husband, Blake, of Clearwater, Kansas, and Jaxon Meyer, Xander Meyer, and Knox Meyer, all of Enid; and two great grandchildren, Reid and Bo, and another great grandchild due this month; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Fish and Game Commission.
