Funeral services for Jack McCray will be Monday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Wharton Funeral Chapel in Alva with Rev. John Clapp, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Alva Municipal Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Family visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today, Oct. 23, at the Wharton Funeral Chapel in Alva.
Jack McCray was born on Jan. 24, 1941, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Ruby (Veley) and Calvin Clermont "Mont" McCray. He passed away in Oklahoma City on October 18, 2022, at the age of 81 years, 8 months, 24 days.
Jack was raised on a farm 17 miles south of Alva. He went to school in Waynoka and left school in the middle of the 12th grade to work on the farm full time.
On December 6, 1964, he was married Joyce Marie Wilks. To this union two children Monty and Jayne were born.
Jack and Joyce lived in Alva where they raised their children. He worked for Otasco, Alva Electric and NWOSU's maintenance department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Archie, Bob, Everett and Lester, and his in-laws, Flossie (Province) and William Joy Wilks.
Jack is survived by his wife Joyce of the home; a son, Monty; a daughter Jayne and Keith Roberts; two grandchildren, Erica and husband Marcus Skelton, and Rebecca; and a great grandchild, Kyler; one sister, Rachael; a special nephew, Kevin and wife Mary McCray; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church through Wharton Funeral Chapel.
