ORIN R. LANCASTER
The funeral for Orin R. Lancaster, 79, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Thursday
at First Christian Church, Alva. Burial will be in Alva Municipal
Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Home, Alva.
He was born June 29, 1927, on a farm west of Hopeton to Arthur and
Lucile Stickler Lancaster and died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007.
He lived in the Alva area most of his life and attended Friendship rural
school eight years, and Horace Mann High School two years and graduated
from Alva High School in 1945. He was drafted into the Army, serving at
a base in Cold Bay, Alaska, in the Aleutian Islands until his discharge
in April 1947.
He married Louise Kimber April 21, 1947, in Provo, Utah. They made their
home in Alva and were members of First Christian Church. He worked 45
years at Central National Bank, retiring as senior vice president.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathryn Helms and Debra Triplett, both of
Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, Arthur of Alva; and three
granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, and two granddaughters.
