Funeral services for Alta Loretta "Pat" Lyon will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chris Ruwaldt, pastor of the Alva First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Alta Loretta "Pat" Lyon, daughter of the late Walter Louis and Bertha (Chastel) Lierman, was born October 7, 1925, in Quinlan, Oklahoma, and passed away December 31, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years, 2 months, and 24 days.
Pat graduated from Quinlan High School with the Class of 1943. Since she graduated during World War II, she immediately was hired at Boeing in Wichita to help with the war effort.
On April 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Roy Edward "Amos" Lyon in Enid. They lived on the farm west of Alva where they engaged in farming and ranching. They moved to Alva in 1974. A couple of years ago, she moved to Enid to be near her son.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alva, where she was very active in church activities, especially Sunday School. She was a member of the United Neighbors Home Extension Club. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos; one infant son; and one sister, Carol Lierman.
Pat is survived by her son, Edward Lyon and wife, Janet "Sue", of Enid; two grandchildren, Nathan Lyon and wife, Laurie, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, and their children, Catie, Lucie, Calvin, and Teddy, and Susannah Herkert and husband, Bryce, of Stafford, Virginia, and their children, Grady and Sydney; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva First Baptist Church.
