ALVA - The funeral for Richard D. Kraft, 79, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday,
April 27, 2010, in Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. The Rev. Ron Pingelton will
officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery, Alva.
He was born April 20, 1931, near Burlington, to Mike and Caroline Wohlschlegel
Kraft and died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center,
Enid.
He graduated from Burlington High School in 1949. He served two years in the
Army. He married Betty Shalloup Aug. 30, 1952, in Alva. He worked at Shalloup's
12 years as a meat cutter. In 1963, he started at the Cherokee locker plant,
which he operated over 30 years. She died Dec. 8, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Chuck and Randy; and one grandson.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Betty Jean Kraft, 67, Cherokee
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at the First Christian Church, Cherokee, with Dr. Ron Hansen officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home of Cherokee is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Dick Kraft of Cherokee; two sons, Charles M. Kraft of Cherokee and Randnall D. Kraft of Wichita, Kan.; her mother, Wanda Shalloup of Cherokee; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister.
Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Library.
