Funeral services for Doris R. Huguley will be Friday, January 31, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ron Pingelton officiating. Burial will follow in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at http://www.whartonfuneralchapel.com.
Doris R., daughter of Mary Ellen (Caulkins) and James Lincoln Moore, was born on December 7, 1924, on a farm south of Weatherford, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully to the loving arms of her Lord, January 1st, 2020, at American Orchards in Gilbert, Arizona, at the age of 95 years and 25 days. She attended a rural one-room grade school and Weatherford High School, graduating with the class of 1941. She graduated from Southwestern State College with a BS degree in 1945 and Master of Teaching degree in 1959.
Miss Moore was married to Harvey Wynn Huguley on August 15, 1947, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Their marriage was blessed with a son, Gary.
The family lived in Beaver, Oklahoma, where Doris taught school for 13 years. In 1959 they moved to Alva, and she taught high school English and business classes for 23 more years.
She was a member of OREA, WCOEA and OBEA after retiring in 1983.
She was baptized at an early age with her membership being transferred to the First Baptist Church of Alva.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; two brothers; and her husband of 50 years, Harvey, in 1997.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son Gary and wife Sylvia, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
