The funeral for Gilbert Eugene Hada, 75, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug.
22, 2009, at Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. The Rev. Bill Kalfas will officiate.
Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery.
He was born March 11, 1934, in Alva, to Jessie Mae Lewis and Bert Hada and died
Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Enid Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He married Arlene Mae Whitely Nov. 23, 1952, in Alva, where they made their
home. He worked at Alva Roller Mills and Alva Coca-Cola Bottling Plant. In 1972
he moved to Dallas and Fort Worth, where he worked for Dr Pepper Bottling Plant,
retiring in 1993 and returning to Alva. He was a member of Reorganized Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are three sons, Terry, Jerry and Alan, all of Alva; two sisters,
Lillie Ann Hada of Enid and Jessie Mae Hart of Grand Prairie, Texas; two
brothers, Dave Hada of Cherokee and Harold Hada of Alva; his partner, Jean
Kennemer; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one sister, one brother and two
grandchildren.
