Funeral services for Kent Allan Gregg will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Rev. Ron Pingelton officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Kent Allan Gregg, son of the late Allan Murra and Jeanette (Clothier) Gregg, was born March 18, 1955, at Pratt, Kansas, and passed away January 13, 2019, at his home in Alva at the age of 63 years, 8 months, and 25 days.
He was in the last graduating class from Hardtner High School before extending his education at a auto body/mechanic school. On March 6, 1976, he was united in marriage to Verlinda Butler and they made their home in Alva where they raised their daughter, Angela. Kent was a member of the First Christian Church and the Lions Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Russell Warrington.
Kent is survived by his wife, Verlinda of Alva; his daughter, Angela Lyon of Enid; his sister, Vickie Warrington of Hutchinson, Kansas; two grandchildren, Harrison and McCartney Lyon of Enid; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the First Christian Church.
