Alva – services for Eva E. Gatz, 66, who died Wednesday morning in her home southwest of Alva, will be at 10 AM Friday in the Alva First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Darrel Hardy, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Gatz was born March 20, 1918, southwest of Alva, the daughter of Della and Emory Dimmick. She attended Liberty Bell and Avard schools.
She and Louis Gatz were married August 7, 1938, at Alva. They made their home southwest of Alva.
Mrs. Gatz was a member of the Alva First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Town and Country Extension Club and was past President of the Farm Bureau Women's Committee.
She was preceded in death by a son Jimmie Raye March 16, 1983; a sister and three brothers.
Survivors include her husband Louis of the home; a daughter Joyce (Mrs. Edward) Chase, Tishomingo; a son, Joe Gatz of Alva; three grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Sulfridge of Alva and Mae (Mrs. Andy) Davis of Delhi, New York, and a brother, Ira Dimmick of Dacoma.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund for Research, with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
