October 28, 1939 - January 8, 2020

Paul Lester Doman Jr., son of Paul Lester Doman Sr. and Opal R. Engle Doman, was born at home in Alva, Oklahoma, October 28, 1939. He passed away January 8, 2020, at Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Alva, Oklahoma, He attended the Alva Public Schools and the Lutheran School. He graduated from Autry Vo-Tech in Enid, Oklahoma.

In 1957 he married Mary Joan Davis in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. They had two daughters, Sheila Gaye and Corinna Jo. Joan preceded him in death in 1961.

Paul married Carol Kay Roby, July 9, 1962 in Alva, Oklahoma. They had four children, Lester Allen, Dianna Kay, Carol Ann and Cheryl Lynn.

Paul was a hard worker, good provider, wonderful father and loving husband. He was a good cook, learning at an early age helping his father in their hamburger joints. He was a mechanic by trade for many years for Ford Motor Company earning several performance awards. He also worked about every aspect of the oilfield.

He was always a champion of the underdog. Always tried to help people, whether it was an extra seat at the dinner table or providing a home for foster children. He was an avid animal lover and hot rod enthusiast. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Paul was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter Sheila Gaye Mayfield, brother and sister-in-law William Lloyd and Dorothy Doman, and sister-in-law Sandra Doman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, of 57 years; son Allen (Paula) Doman of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; daughters Corinna Jo Doman of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Dianna (Bill) Veatch of Emporia, Kansas, Carol Ann (Lance) Crouch of Scott City, Kansas, and Cheryl (Steve) Ellis of Alva; and one brother Eldon Doman and sister Joyce Wells. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren: Jeremy Evans, Amanda (Charles) Gillis, Christopher Willingham, Crystal and Zack Starr, Wendy (Jessie) Prosser, Dacya (Lance), Shane (Kaitlin) and Kimberly Doman, Cheyenne and Kevin Veatch, Marikate and Kelsijo Crouch and Jacob (Taryn) and Brandon Ellis, along with 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at graveside Saturday January 18, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Sony Daub officiating. The family invites everyone to join them after the service at the home of Cheryl Ellis, 824 Locust St, Alva, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the Paul Doman Memorial has been established with Jet State Bank, P.O. Box 266, Jet, OK. 73749.
