Deceased: Hazel Etta Dickson, 99
Hazel Etta, daughter of Florence (Howard) and Christian Knabe was born December 4, 1906 on the family homestead near Avard in Woods County, Indian Territory, Oklahoma. She passed from this life at the home of her daughter near Stillwater, Oklahoma, in the loving care of her family on 2nd of September, at the age of 99 years, 8 months and 28 days.
Mrs. Dickson is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Virgil Withrow, a sister Sylvia Cardey and their spouses, a son-in-law Charles Shipley, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Wanda Shipley of Stillwater, and her son and his wife, Howard and Shirley of Santa Clara, California. Four grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie Shipley and Vince Smola of Stillwater, Joy Dickson and Ray Gradwohl of Saratoga, California, Mark and Joan Dickson of Hollister, California, Neil and Mary Dickson of Sunnyvale, California. Two great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Kaitlyn Dickson, three step-grandchildren, Sonya Gallego, Christian Cox, Jeremy Jenkin and a niece, Sylvia Withrow Olbert, a number of other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends
Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the Alva Share Liberty or the Nescatunga Arts and Humanities Council of Alva or the hospice of your choice.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 8, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Wharton Funeral Chapel with Reverend John Clapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Chapel.
