Patsy Alice (Smith) Franklin

Pasty Alice Franklin, daughter of Jesse M. and Naomi Belle (Bowen) Smith, was born October 20, 1939 in Cordell, Oklahoma. She departed this life May 20, 2002, at the age of 62 years, seven months.


She had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cordell. Patsy enjoyed her grandchildren and craft work. She was united in marriage to Doyle Franklin on December 5, 1964 at Cordell. To this union three children were born.


Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Kenneth Smith; two brothers and two sisters in infancy; and a stillborn son, Doyle W. Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Doyle Franklin; three children; Keith Franklin of Tulsa, LaRena and husband, Shaun Guthrie of Burns Flat and Terry Franklin of Tulsa; three sisters; Louise Gates of Lawton, Theresa Dobbs of Cordell and Jewel Vogal of Hacienda Heights, California; four grandchildren; Madison, Christopher, Stefan and Logan; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Patsy Franklin were held Friday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Strickland Cemetery. Interment, under the direction of McClure Funeral Home followed.
