Ragine Schones was born May 5, 1925 in Canute, Oklahoma to Frances (Merz) and George Theodore Kamphaus. She passed away March 17, 2017 at Canute, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 12 days.

Ragine grew up in the Canute area and attended St. Francis Schools. She helped her family on their farm and air base at Burns Flat, Oklahoma. She was married to Raphael Edward Schones at St. Francis on August 1, 1946 and they made their home on the farm south of Canute. Ragine always provided for her family by gardening and canning. In 1973 Ragine and Raphael moved to town in the house her grandfather built. During this time she worked at the A & A Café with her 2 sisters Agnes and Lorene. After the restaurant closed Ragine enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, gardening, working with her flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, Eddie Kamphaus; 4 sisters, Agnes Schones, Katherine Spitz, BernadineToelle and Dolores Greteman and 1 great grandson Trenton Jace Schones.

She is survived by her 5 children, Dianne Peffer, Elk City, OK, George Schones, Canute, OK, Douglas Schones and wife, Kathy, Canute, OK, Lanell West and husband, Ray, Okarche, OK and Ray Schones and wife, Cathy, Canute, OK; 12 grandchildren, Shane Peffer, Lance Peffer, Paul Schones, Trudy Evans, Blake Schones, Amber Schieber, Aaron West, Rayla Atkinson, Alexandria West, Sarah Davis, Rachael Schones and Adam Schones; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister, Lorene Grossman, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
