Clennen O. "Johnny" Johnson, was born March 1, 1925, southwest of Dill City, Oklahoma to William Oscar and Magnolia Nay (Neeley) Johnson, and died August 1, 2004, at Elkview General Hospital in Hobart at the age of 79 yeas, and 5 months.


Johnny had lived in the Dill City area all of his life, graduating from Dill City High School in 1942. He was a member of the Plains Avenue Church of Christ.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from October 1943 to December 1945 aboard the USS Layman as a radarman. Johnny was united in marriage to Geneva Margaret Cheeves, April 12, 1944, and to this union two children were born. Johnny was a farmer. He then worked for 12 years for Farmland Industries. Then for 18 years he traveled southwest Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle as a cotton seed buyer for Producers Cotton Oil Mill.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers, Loy and Warren and sister, Jewel Moore.


Survivors include his wife, Geneva of the home; children: Jerry and wife, Barbara Johnson of Piedmont; Connie and husband, Nick Miller of Lawton; two sisters, Juanita Jarrell of Burns Flat and Warrena McWhorter of Elk City; grandchildren: Dr. Steve and Erin Miller of Pearland, Texas; Stephanie Miller and fiancee, Josh VanderVelden of Nashville, Tennessee; Randy Johnson of Yukon and Greg and Lea Johnson of Mustang; great-grandchildren, Emily Miller and (soon to be), Margaret Miller of Pearland, Texas; other relatives and friends.


Funeral services fro Clennen O. “Johnny” Johnson were held on Wednesday, August 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plains Avenue Church of Christ in Dill City with Truman Teel officiating.

Interment, under the direction of McClure Funeral Home of Cordell, followed in Sentinel Cemetery.
