Services for Betty Mueller, 77 of Bessie, will be September 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie, Oklahoma. Pastor David Darling will officiate.

Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Bessie, Oklahoma. Arrangements will be under the direction of Kiesau Marler Funeral Home, Clinton, Oklahoma.


Betty passed away late Monday evening at her home in Bessie, Oklahoma.
Betty was born on July 29, 1925 on her family farm in Bessie, Oklahoma to John and Freda Bose. She grew up and lived in Bessie all her life. Betty was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church where she belonged in the Mary Martha and Tabatha Circles. Betty married Leonard Mueller on February 19, 1944. She was known as “Nana” to her family. Betty worked as a homemaker and worked on the farm beside her husband for many years. Betty worked at the Trade Winds for a number of years. She was Director of Youth Service Center in Clinton for a number of years. Betty was active in the Democratic Party. She enjoyed quilting, reading and sewing.

Betty is survived by her son; Darrold Mueller and wife, Elaine of Bessie, OK., daughter; Marilyn Dudgeon and husband, Jerry of Bessie, OK., sisters: Gwendolyn Mirtz and husband, Pastor Ben of Oklahoma City, OK., Leona Sanders and husband, Ernest of Albuquerque, NM., grandchildren: Jason Dudgeon, Josh Dudgeon, Rachel Dudgeon, Amy Mueller, step grandchildren: Mark Henderson and Amy Dallas., two step-great grandchildren.


Betty was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Mueller in 1978, son Leonard Gene "Sonny" Mueller and infant sister, Mary Lou and her parents.
