James (Jimmie) C. Dean, Jr. of Canute, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, April 6th, 2019 at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 27 days in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

James was born June 10,1929 in Elk City, Oklahoma to his parents James C. Dean Sr. and Ada (Galloway) Dean. Jimmie has lived a full life. He and Donna Rea were married in 1949 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was a loyal and dedicated Gideon for many years. He taught Sunday school for many years as well at Elk City Church of God. He was a math and English teacher at Elk City High School. Jimmie enjoyed coaching high school basketball, baseball and a little volleyball during his teaching career. He also coached at Bayridge Christian College in Kendleton, Texas. Jimmie was the owner/operator of Elk City Elk Elevator for over 40 years. He was also proud to be the first license holder for fuel ethanol in the state of Oklahoma.

Although Jimmie is no longer with us, his memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include his wife of 69 years Donna Dean of the home, 4 sons: Rannie and wife Cyndi Dean of Cordell, Oklahoma, Norman and wife Kathy Dean of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ricky and wife Cheryl Dean of Denton, Texas, Clinton and wife Sherri Dean of Canute, Oklahoma, 1 daughter: DeAnn and husband David Gaddis of Ulysses, Kansas, 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren as well as a host of long time friends, neighbors and church family.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Page Cemetery with Pastor Joe Thompson and Pastor James Dean IV officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Dean Ranch, E. 1040 Rd, Canute, Oklahoma, casual dress.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whinery Funeral Home, Elk City, Oklahoma.
