Carroll Frank Jackson , 70, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, in Oklahoma City. He was born April 2, 1942 in Cordell to Irvan John Jackson and Lila Bernice VanVranken; Carroll was the youngest of eight children.    

Carroll began his career at the young age of 17 in the furniture business. He started as a delivery driver and worked his way up in the sales division to become an owner of his own retail establishment. He was in the retail profession for 53 years.

Family and friends will remember Carroll for his larger-than-life personality and physique and for the fun-loving, and often mischievous, way he lived his life. Church and family were at the top of the list for this special man. His infectious laugh will remain in our hearts and memories.

Carroll is survived by his son, Kevin Jackson and wife Robye of Norman; daughter, Lori L. Pettit and husband Jim of Bethany; the mother of his children and friend Judye Shriver Jackson of Norman; son, Jason Lovett of Edmond; brother, Don Jackson and wife Sharon of Kennewick, Wash.; sister, Irma Youngblood of Edmond; grandchildren, Josh, Dustin, Derek and Aspen Pettit, and Andrew, Jennifer and Jaci Jackson .

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley Jackson ; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Luke Methodist Church, 222 NW 15 St., Oklahoma City. Interment will be held at North Burns Cemetery, Burns Flat.
