Lillie Ella Baskett, daughter of Ubbo and Ella (Swart) was born January 19, 1916 at Rocky. She departed this life July 6, 2002 at the Cordell Christian Home at the age of 86 years, five months and 11 days.
Lillie had lived in the Rocky area all of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and their Sunday drives. She helped Orval in the fields. Lillie had an extremely loving personality and never missed a niece's or nephew's birthday. She had been an avid Sentinel Basketball fan. She served as treasurer of the church for many years. She worked at the Rocky Famers Co-op for a number of years. She had traveled to Germany to visit family.
Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orval on September 19, 1998, two brothers, Fred and Henry Koper, two sisters Margaret Dunn and Bertha Nowlin.
She is survived by a sister-in-law Elsie Bixler of California and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday, July 8, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Rocky. Interment followed in Lone Star Cemetery. Services were under the direction of McClure Funeral Home of Sentinel. Rev. Norman Wasson and Don Diffendaffer officiated.
