Obit for Thomas
Funeral services for Tom Richey were held Friday,
September 6 at 10 a.m. under the direction of McClure Funeral Home
Chapel in Cordell with Andy Taylor officiating.
Interment, under the
direction of McClure Funeral Home, followed in the Lawnview Cemetery.
Thomas Edwin (Tom) Richey, son of Lester Arthur and Ruth
Marie (Atha) Richey, was born January 26, 1934 at Cloud Chief. He
departed this life September 4, 2002 at his home in Cordell at the age
of 68 years, 7 months and 8 days.
Tom had lived in this area most of his life. He was a
member of the Cordell Round Up Club and the VFW. He enjoyed rodeoing. He
farmed and ranched for many years and also drove a bus and activity bus
for Cordell Schools. Tom had been employed as a truck driver for the
past several years.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Leota of the home; two
brothers: , Jack Richey and wife, Twila of Burleson, Texas, Robert
Richey and wife, Cissy of Richardson, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles
Anderson of Oklahoma City; two sons: Danny Ogle and wife, Donna of
Shattuck, Salty Ogle and fiancee, Deneice Hill of Cordell; 7
grandchildren; Cody Ogle and wife, Jennifer of Cordell, Brandon Ogle and
wife, Stacy of Blair, Mindy Ogle Williams and husband, Brandon of
Oklahoma City; Dakota Ogle of Norman; Levi Ogle and wife, Angela of
Norman, Audra Ogle Alldredge of Binger, Allison Ogle Davis of Clinton; 4
great grandchildren, Carissa Alldredge of Binger, Kasey Ogle of Cordell,
Talon Ogle of Blair and Riley Kinder of Blair; other relatives and
friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lester and Ruth
Richey, sister, Joyce Richey Anderson and son, Smokey Ogle.
