Wesley Duane Igo, 66, of MWC, passed away Sept. 3, 2009 after a four-year battle with cancer.
He was born to Ted Lee and Zora Leola Igo in Cordell, OK on Feb. 22, 1943. His parents moved to MWC around 1953 where he graduated from high school. Wes attended Central State University for four years. After college, Wes willingly volunteered and enlisted in the US Army in 1965, where he attained the rank of Captain in an armored division and served in Germany and Korea. Wes was an avid OU fan, enjoyed cooking, NASCAR, and loved his family.
He is survived by his sister, Janice Cox and husband Earl; nephew, Rex Cox; nieces, Michelle Harvey and husband Bill and Cindy Maddux; grand nephews and nieces, Bryce, Riley, and Kyle Maddux, Landon and Lauren Harvey; and a host of cousins including Richard Wells who has helped care for Wes the last couple of years.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff at Midwest City Specialty Hospital for the wonderful care Wes received.
Funeral service will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009 at Meadowood Baptist Church in MWC, interment to follow at 2 PM at Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell, OK.
