Clarence Ambrose Brown, Sr., son of Michael and Eva Katherine Brown, was born July 13, 1883, near Des Moines, Iowa.

He departed this life at the Cheyenne Convalescent Home January 23, 1968, after a brief illness, at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 10 days.

In 1893, at the age of 10 years, he moved with his parents to Cordell, Oklahoma.

On December 24, 1902 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Younger in Cordell, Oklahoma.

In April, 1904 they moved to Day County where they homesteaded southwest of Grand, Oklahoma.

Mr. Brown lived his life in and around the Bellview and Durham communities until he retired 13 years ago.

To this union were born five children; one daughter, Mrs. Clovis Sibley, Fritch, Texas; four sons, Hughie and C. A., Jr., of Borger; Mike of Canyon City, Colorado; and Jim of Durham, Oklahoma.

Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; one sister, Lucy Von Essen, Yakima, Washington; one brother, Bill Bown, Calville, Washington; and friends.

His wife, one grandchild, and one great grandchild preceded him in death.

Mr. Brown was of the Catholic faith.

Funeral services were in the Cheyenne Catholic church, January 25, 1968, with interment in the Canute Cemetery.
