Earl moved with his family at a young age to Henryetta, Oklahoma. He attended school at Henryetta graduating in 1963. After graduation Earl enlisted in the United States Army where he served stateside. During his time of service he was married to Ruth Evelyn Myers on December 31, 1970 in Anadarko, Oklahoma during a time of reprieve from the military. After his discharge they moved to various places while Earl worked in government construction. Earl later started his career in the oil field in 1974 and began his own business in 1993. Earl and Ruth made their home in Dill City, Burns Flat and in Foss in 2000 where they've made their home ever since. Earl was an avid hunter and also loved spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Charles Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; 3 children, Cheleta Morton, Oklahoma City, OK, Earl Hughes, Jr. and Tim Hughes, both of Foss, OK; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Billie Jo Maben, Rolla, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will greet friends on Friday evening, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Whinery Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
