Funeral services for DeVon Jane Fagan will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at United Methodist Church of Elk City with Dr. Dan Peil and Rev. Mike Hershberger officiating. Interment will be at Canute Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.

DeVon Jane Fagan was born October 5, 1935 in Ada, Oklahoma to L. J. and Velma (Isaacs) Smith along with her twin brother, LaDon James. The family moved to Tulsa in 1938 where she attended school and resided the first 30 years of her life. In 1969, she moved to western Oklahoma and made her home in Elk City. DeVon devoted her life to Jesus Christ, whom she served faithfully through various organizations, missions, and churches. DeVon said through the numerous trials of her life, God never faltered and remained faithful to her.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her precious sister, DeLores Ann Erwin, her beloved twin brother, LaDon James Smith, and her sweet niece, Kelly Hammond.

DeVon is survived by her children: Brenda Sue Chapin of Oklahoma City, Sherri Russell of Leedey, Jerry Don Jones of Elk City; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Rosemary Hershberger and husband Mike of Mountain View, Oklahoma; one brother, Johnny Smith and wife Linda of Wagoner, Oklahoma; one sister in law, Carole Smith of Rogers, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews. Also her beloved Clifford Fagan; one stepson, Anthony Fagan and wife Debbie; one stepdaughter, Reta Loyd and husband Ronald; four step-grandsons, and two step-granddaughters. DeVon also leaves behind a very large family of friends whom she loved dearly.
