Crystal Fawn Young
June 19, 1974 - December 14, 2022
Crystal Fawn Young, 48, of Dewey, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Bartlesville.
Crystal was born on June 19, 1974, in Collinsville, OK, to Joe Griggs Jr. and Samilee Carol Rumple. From a young age Crystal was raised by her loving grandparents, "Big Pa" Joe and "Nay Nay" Mila Griggs, in Bartlesville. A tomboy at heart, Crystal preferred to hang with the boys, going coon hunting and fishing. Once married she welcomed her two daughters into the world, her pride and joy, Sara and Brittanie. She was active in the girls' activities, from cheerleading to showing cows in 4-H. Together the family took many memorable trips near and far and especially enjoyed Branson. One evening, everyone wanted to go to Short Creek, and all but Andrew was old enough to get in. Andrew stayed behind to watch the girls and they fell in love. Crystal and Andrew married about a year later, on May 1, 2010. Crystal enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. She also worked outside the home at Mays Drugs, Walmart, travel agent and childcare.
Together with Andrew, the couple enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, but mostly just being together. Crystal enjoyed collecting Paparazzi Jewelry. She liked it so much she became a consultant but ended up buying way more than she ever sold. Her greatest passion was taking care of others. She enjoyed caring for her grandbabies as well as other people's kids, who became her grandbabies, and everyone else. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and Nana and will be greatly missed.
Crystal is survived by her husband Andrew; children, Brittanie Joe Marsh, Kaylee Scimeca and Kenneth Scimeca; siblings, George (Heather) Griggs, Lilly (Jeff) McChesney, Kelly Griggs and Dezarae (Cory) Thomas; grandson, Elliott Joseph Hubbard; grandmother, Betty Watkins, who joined her in heaven a few days later; and a host of other family and friends too numerous to count. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Big Pa and Nay Nay; beloved daughter, Sara Marsh; grandfather, Bill Watkins; father-in-law, Garland Young; and second cousin, Daniel Shaffer.
