Delynn Jane Smith, 21 of Bartlesville, died Friday in Bartlesville.
Delynn or Janie as she was affectionately known was born on March 21,
1996 in Bartlesville, Ok. She found unconditional love in Bob and Esther
Smith and they became her loving parents. Janie was dedicated in the New
Life Pentecostal Church at years old. During her school years she played
and student coached basketball. She graduated with the Bartlesville High
Class of 2014 and went on to obtain her Certified Nursing Assistant
certificate from Tri County Tech. Her ultimate goal was to obtain her
registered Nursing degree. For the past three years she has worked at a
local nursing center where she deeply loved her patients.
Janie from a young age loved animals. Every spring she would by chicks
and raise them at home until they were too big to stay in their tub and
from their she found them homes in the country. Stumpy the frog with a
noticeable short leg visited her home every year. She also held a
special place in her heart for children and older people and advocating
for their care. Janie loved to paint and was eagerly planning her
upcoming wedding to her fiancé William Wood.
Janie is survived by her fiancé William Wood, mother Esther Wood,
siblings, Frank Myers Jr., Betty Jean Fashing-Lusk, Loralynn Culton,
Rebecca Carol McNabb, Jack Dewayne Myers, Robert Myers, Rodney Allen
Hamlin, Annie Carey, Samantha carey and George Amos Myers, One one
special friend Vex the albino ferret and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Bob Smith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12-8, and Thursday 9-12.
Janie’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home,
918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Wednesday, December 20,
from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, at the
Davis Family Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of
Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and
