BARTLESVILLE EXAMINER-ENTERPRISE
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Mae Ruth Payton, age 73, of Bartlesville, OK passed from this life to everlasting life on November 16, 2016.

Mae was born on March 22, 1943 in Clayton, OK to Orby E. P. and Ruby Frances (Robertson) White. She was known as Mae or Miss Mae at First Baptist Church where she served as the director of Home Bound Ministry. She was active in the Young at Heart group, attended Bible Study, and WMU. She volunteered at the Family Life Center. Many times, at the county fair, she won first place on her delicious pies of which many near and far have enjoyed.

Journey Home, a hospice house in Bartlesville, was a passion of Mae's. She was instrumental in helping to make it a reality and devoted many volunteer hours to its success. One of her beliefs was that "No one should die alone" so she sat by many bedsides as the inevitable occurred to many people. She was a true servant in the name of her Savior.

She is survived by son, Dennis Price and his wife, Misty, of Henryetta, OK; daughter, Denise Frazier and her husband, John, of Katy, TX; daughter, Dana Miller and her husband, Brent, of Bartlesville, OK; Stepdaughter, Theresa Butcher and her husband, Larry, of Pawhuska, OK; brother, John Lee White and his wife, Leila, of Burnsville, MN; sister, Glenna Herzer of Jones, OK; and sister-in-law, Charlene White of Normal, IL.
Grandchildren, Robert Frazier and his wife Savannah of Katy, TX; James Frazier of Katy, TX; Travis Garrett of Wichita Falls, TX; Jesse Burdick of Bartlesville, OK; Sara Armstrong of Hempstead, TX; Alora, Ashlynn, and Tristan Price of Henryetta, OK; step-grandchildren, Dominique Butcher of Pawhuska, OK and Darrell Butcher of Canada; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends including many at Bartlesville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orby E. P. and Ruby White; her husband, Dale Payton; and her brother, Gene White.

The family suggests donations in Mae's name be made to Journey Home, Gideons, or any charity of choice .

Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Bartlesville. Pastor James Biesiadecki was the officiant.

Interment followed the service at White Rose Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoring.memories.com.  .
