Ida Mae (King) Munkirs

She was born in Dewey, OK on May
30, 1937, one of eight children born to Delton F. and Francis (David)
King.
She was a devoted and faithful mother. In her early years she was a
homemaker raising five children. For many years, Ida worked as a laundry
attendant at Saddoris Laundry, Ramada Inn and Silver Lake Nursing Home
before retiring.
Sewing and quilting were her favorite past-time hobbies. Both family and
friends benefited greatly from that love. Her quilting handiwork lives
on in many homes today.
Ida accepted Jesus as her personal savior during her teenage years and
was baptized at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.
Ida is survived by her five children, John Frank Munkirs Jr. and his
wife Cecilia of Bartlesville, Kathy Lynn Martinez and her husband
Hermann of Broken Arrow, Jimmie Neal Munkirs of Bartlesville, Ida
Jannette Wells and her husband Donal of Sand Springs, and Lavender Jane
Thorne and her husband Paul of Boulder, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carmel Holeman and her husband Dave of
Bartlesville, Delma Rhett and her husband Denny of Ramona; three
brothers, John King of Ochelata, Howard King and his wife Jan of
Cleveland, David King and his wife Phyllis of Bartlesville, as well as
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
her sister Clara Jane Cooper and her brother Burt King.
Visitation for Ida will be on Sunday, September 17th from 3:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75),
Dewey, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 18, 10 a.m., at the Chapel of Davis Family Funeral Home.
Interment will be at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Condolences and messages to the family may be left at the funeral website, www.DavisFamilyFuneralHomecom.
