Janet was born the daughter of Vernon Franklin and Mary Leora (Hall) Wry on May
20, 1937, in Golden City, MO. She was raised on the farm until her family moved
to Bartlesville when she was 15. She soon met and married Jimmie Joe Morris in
1955. Three children were born to the union. Jimmy preceded her in death in
1976. Shortly after she met Vern, they were united in marriage on Oct. 21, 1977.
Bartlesville was their base but they travelled with Vern’s work; at their 1995
retirement, they were in Grand Prairie, TX, before returning home.
Janet loved the Lord and through her example she was able to lead Vern into a
personal relationship with Christ. She loved her many animals through the years
especially her poodles; through her final months one poodle Pepi hasn’t left her
side.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Vern of the home; two daughters, Clara
Foster and Louis, and Donna Hemphill and James, all of Ochelata; two siblings
Ina Spiller and Marvin Wry; seven grandchildren, Josh Thompson and Jen, Jacob
Hemphill, Sarah Foster, John Foster and Maranda, Rachel Jackson and Mac, Jeremy
Foster and Lisa, and Angie Ferman; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Jimmie, one
son Jimmie Wayne Morris in 1999, one brother Ronnie Wry and one sister Karen
Scott.
Janet’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home,
918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey Oklahoma on Mon., Sept. 19, from 6-7
p.m.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at White Rose Cemetery with
Pastor Jack Richey officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis
and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be
shared with Janet’s family at
