John was born November 15, 1943, to parents Joseph Losson and Gladys Pauline (Ketchum) Hayes, in Chelsea, Oklahoma. He graduated from Nowata High School. Following high school, John joined the United States Army and served from 1966 to 1972. He worked for Premium Beers as a sales manager for many years. John married Marla D. McClintock on November 16, 1973. He loved going to rodeos and team roping.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, mother and father in law Nancy and Buster McClintock, 3 brothers Bob Stephens, Jackie Stephens and Jim Hayes and sister Darlene and husband Ronnie Inman, Brother in Law, Roy Decker.
John is survived by his wife, Marla; daughter Sara Hayes; son Justin Hayes; daughter in law Angela Bates; grandsons Chase and Jarren Hayes; great granddaughters Brixley and Ella Hayes; sisters Treva Murray and husband David, Janet and husband Johnny Clanton, Joila and husband Roy Noblitt and Sue Decker and brother Doyle Hayes and wife Janie, sister in law Sandra Lawrence, nieces Jyme, Jaycee, Joslyn Felix and Jaelyn Allen, along with a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to The Journey Home, 900 NE Washington Blvd. Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2pm at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.
