Mark Franklin Close, 51, of Ramona, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Mark was born
on July 4, 1966 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to
Kenneth and Carolyn (Riff) Close. He grew up in
Bartlesville and graduated from Bartlesville
High School. After high school, Mark embarked on
a career in roofing. Later, he opened Mark Close
Roofing and Construction serving all of Green
Country. Mark Loved God, his family and many
hobbies. He cherished his wife and children. He
loved to hunt, fish, collect guns, and spend
time with friends and family. He was always
generous to those in need. Mark was an Oklahoma
Sooners fan. He loved to sing, and make up silly
songs. Mark was a great cook especially steaks
and "special" queso. Mark was active in the
community with local churches and prison
ministry. Mark had a strong faith in the Lord
Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Close, with whom
he shared 21 years of marriage; their two
children, Samuel Franklin and Hannah Jae Close,
step-daughter, Maggie Dodd; his parents Kenneth
Franklin and Carolyn J. Close; father &
mother-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Cardwell and
numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents,
Roland and Ruth Riff; Warren and Leona Close,
and niece, Richelle Close.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Walker-Brown
Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
