Cora Lorene Ely
February 23, 1940 - October 15, 2025

As we are saddened at the passing of our beloved wife, mother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, we rejoice in her life and know that her pain and struggles are now over.

Cora Lorene Ely was born in Horton, KS on January 23, 1940 to Lewis and Georgia Bunn. Her family soon moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where she was raised with her two older sisters, Bootsie and Veva. On March 2, 1963, Cora married Boyd Ely and joined him on his adventures in The US Coast Guard. During their lives together, they raised three children and lived across the United States. She was very proud of the work that Boyd did and proud to be able to be at home and run their household.

Cora loved her family and would do anything to help them. She loved to go shopping, travel to the mountains and Disney World, and be with her family. She was always scheming and planning the next trip, She enjoyed music and musicals. She especially enjoyed gospel, Disney, acapella and a really good march. She traveled to watch her grandchildren in activities and was proud of their many accomplishments. She enjoyed giving to people. She gave gifts to many charitable organizations but also to people she met who needed it. People were drawn to her and her ability to listen and empathize with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sisters and great-granddaughter, Joanna Lupo. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Boyd, her children Suzanne and Mark Villines, Rick and Sharrie Ely,and Kelly Ely. Also, six grandchildren- Kaitlin Villines Lupo and husband Ian Lupo, Cameron Villines and wife Brenna, Kyleen Villines, Erik Ely, Alyssa Ely, and Emily Ely. And lastly five great-grandchildren- Eila Lupo,Daniel Lupo, Piper Lupo, Esther Villines, and Scarlet Villines

She taught us that money was only important in the joy you could bring with it and to go in God's Love and Walk in His light for we are truly blessed in the Lord.
