Education:
High School: Graduation from Bartlesville College High
Military – US Army CoD 1st BG 22nd Infantry
US Army Corps – Reserve
Received Good Conduct Medal of Honor
Married: Lizzie Jane Gray on December 24th, 1955 at the Friends Church in Ramona, Oklahoma with Rev Ralph Lemons as preacher.
Worked for Dunlap Construction for several years then for 25 years at Phillips Petroleum as a Locksmith.
Don loved wood working. Made lots of projects for the home, family and friends. He grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and moved to Ramona, Oklahoma upon marriage to Lizzie Gray. Where they built their home on the homestead of Liz’s grandmother. They lived there for over 51 years then moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma until 2020 where he resided at Forrest Manor Nursing Home in Dewey, Oklahoma then moved to Oxford Glen Memory Care Center in Owasso, Oklahoma where he resided upon his death.

He was preceded in death by: his mother and father and 2 sisters Violet Winters and Sue Guess.

Survivors include: His wife of the home Liz Smith, daughter Judy and husband Ivan De Tevis of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; son Tim and wife Deborah Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma.
Grand Children: Coleen Seals and significant other Heath Spalding of Dewey, Oklahoma; Brandon and wife Nichole Ward of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Justin Ward of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Andrew and wife Kenna Smith of Durant, Oklahoma; Luke and wife Anastasia Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma; Melanie (Ting) Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma. Great Grand Children: Angela Seals and Ashley Seals of Dewey, Oklahoma; Daymon Seals and Harlee Seals of Dewey, Oklahoma; Kylee Ward and Joshua Ward of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Caleb Smith of Durant, Oklahoma and William Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma. His surviving siblings: Margie Farrar of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jeanie Pry of Grove, Oklahoma and Dennis and wife Reva Smith of Berryville, Arkansas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date and cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

He will be inurned at the Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, OK.
