Ida Ettalee (Sawyer) and William Eldon
"Bill" Miller
Ramona Cemetery
Washington County, Oklahoma
Obit for Ida posted by Ann Weber
Feb 23, 1932 - Sep 9, 2017
DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)
Ida Ettalee Miller of Ramona, went home to the Lord on Saturday. She was
86 and had lived a full and blessed life as a beloved wife of 68 years,
mom, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. As a daughter
and sister, she became known as Bobbie to her childhood friends, and
later was known as Ida.
Ida Ettalee was born the daughter of Virgil Sawyer and Zella Floyd on
Feb. 23, 1932, in Hermitage, MO. When she was not even two, her mom
passed and little Ida went to live with her grandparents for a few years
while her father worked in California. Later, after the family moved to
Oklahoma, Ida attended Ramona schools. When she was in the 4th grade,
she met the boy who would become the love of her life. As teenagers, Ida
and Bill dated, then tied the love knot on July 2, 1947. The couple made
their home in Ramona, moving to their farm in 1959 where Ida helped her
husband with crops and cattle. Of all the things they raised, their
children were their proudest accomplishment. Ida liked to stay busy and
when she wasn’t working on the land, she was busy crafting, making
jewelry and t-shirts, and sewing children’s clothes and dresses. She
looked forward to spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Ida is survived by her loving husband William Eldon (Bill) Miller; three
children, Ruby Collier and Phillip of Meeker, OK, Wilma Burton, and
Floyd Miller and Lois, all of Ramona; one sister Mitzi Shewee of Buhl,
Idaho; and one brother Virgil Gene Sawyers and Rita of Chicago; as well
as five grandchildren, Joe Miller, Billy Jo Miller, Bonnie Fifer, Amanda
Burr, Michael Collier; eight great grandchildren, Cody Miller, Korey
Miller, Jennifer Fifer, Jasmine Fifer, Jett Fifer, Michael Collier,
Shane Collier, Ryder Collier, and one great great grandchild Hayden
Miller.
She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Zeffie
Sawyer, two brothers Jamie Sawyer and Charles Schoneover, son Billy
Eldon Miller, son-in-law Robert Lee Burton and grandson Clinton Collier.
Visitation will be 10-8 on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Ida’s family will receive
friends on Tues., from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Family Funeral Home,
918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 13, at Ramona First
Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Cox officiating. Services are under the
direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
