Horsman, Douglas Lee, 56, cattle rancher, unexpectedly passed
away at his rural Talala home on May 11, 2018.
Douglas was born on October 21, 1961, in Bartlesville to parents Gary and Anna
Lillian (Gifford) Moore. The couple later divorced, and Anna married Howard
Michael Horsman, who then adopted Douglas. Douglas was a graduate of the 1979
class at Caney Valley High School.
Douglas enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. He was always
building and fixing. He worked doing carpentry and house framing, then became a
Certified Welding Inspector at Superior Manufacturing in Bartlesville and later
at McKissick Manufacturing in Tulsa. He loved to build homes, and he was proud
to have built both his home and the home of his daughter Kristin.
Douglas was finally able to stop being a welding inspector and pursued his great
passion of cattle ranching. It was what really and truly gave him satisfaction.
Douglas also loved to garden and always had a bounty of vegetables that he liked
to share with his friends and with the family that he was so very proud of.
Douglas also enjoyed fishing, especially on the Verdigris River with his
friends.
Douglas is survived by his son, Daniel Horsman and wife Robin of Ramona;
daughter, Kristin Hughes and husband James of Ochelata; Stepfather Howard
Michael Horsman of Ochelata; grandchildren, Victorina Hughes, Morgan Hughes,
Lauren Hughes, Cameron Clemons, Kaitlyn Clemons, Abbey Hughes, Brooke Horsman,
Logan Horsman; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Michael Horsman of Bartlesville,
OK, Stephanie DeBacker of Troy, KS, Teresa Vaughn of Kansas City, MO, Wes
