Dixie was born in Locust Grove (Yonkers), OK on September 9, 1927 and was a resident of Bartlesville, OK. Dixie received salvation at the age of twelve during a revival at Happy Hill in Ramona, OK on April 17, 1940. She was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy and ministered alongside her husband, Reverend Marvin Francis, for many years in the states of Oklahoma and Iowa. She was also employed with Hobby Lobby in Tulsa, OK for several years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Francis, parents, Winferd and Gladys Gray, sister, Mona Grigsby Coy and brother, Darrell Gray.
She is survived by daughter, Glenda and husband Leonard Sumpter of Bartlesville, son, Lealon and wife Edith Francis of Ramona. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Kenneth Sumpter, Leasa Marshall, Ricky Sumpter, Deryl and wife Janean Francis, Renee and husband Jeremy Holt and Kendall Francis, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
