Ramona Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Hope
Harbor Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1047, Claremore, Oklahoma, 74017.
Mrs. Bond was born in the Circle Mountain area of Washington County the
daughter of Joe Griggs and Florene (McCowan) Griggs on September 21,
1935. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Tom and Mary Smith in the
Bartlesville area. She attended Fish Creek school, Horace Mann school,
Central Junior High and graduated from College High School in 1954. She
also attended Tulsa Junior College. She was married to John W. Bond on
July 21, 1953 at the home of Tom and Mary Smith. They made their home in
Bartlesville until they moved to rural Ochelata in 1969. They have
continued their home there since that time. Mrs. Bond had been employed
at Hull Drug, the S & H Green Stamp Store and at Cities Service Oil
Company until her retirement in 1990. She loved bowling, flower beds,
gardening, canning and cooking. She was wild about her grandkids and
kids.
Mrs. Bond is survived by her husband John W. Bond of the home, three
sons, John W. (Jay) Bond Jr. and wife Carol of Ochelata, Vernon D. Bond
and wife Mari of Ochelata, and Terry L. Bond and wife Cheryl of Edmond,
seven grandchildren, Justin Bond, Jessica Tennant and husband Jason,
Daniel Bond, Kenny Bond and wife Regan, Natalie Bond, Paige Bond and
Sheridan Fuller and husband Tripp and one great grandchild, Emersyn
Bond, and her surviving siblings, Rocky Banks, Freddie Griggs, Jody
Griggs, Robert Griggs and Bill Smith.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Florene (Boe) and Art Banks, aunts and uncle, Tom and Mary Smith, her father, Joe Griggs, and brothers Jack Smith and Arthur Earl Banks.
