DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Oleta May Asbury, 66, of Ramona, OK entered into heaven November 11, 2018. She was born on December 20, 1951 to Olen and Edna Angle.

She spent most of her childhood years in Braman, Ok. In 1968, the family moved to Blackwell. A year later, Oleta met the love of her life, Loren Clinton Asbury, while he was on military leave from the Navy. They married on Jan. 23, 1970. Upon graduating from Blackwell High School in 1970, she joined “Clint” in Connecticut until he received his discharge from the United States Navy. Together, they settled in Bartlesville, OK, until 2010, in which they decided to move to Ramona to live closer to their grandchildren.

Oleta worked for the Bartlesville Public School system in food service for 27 years. She retired in 2012. At this time, she poured her heart into her grandchildren and many other kids who call her Meme. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world and she did her best to give them the desires of their hearts. She enjoyed spending her time watching them show pigs, play sports, or just play in the sand. Her hobbies include embroidery, playing cards and working puzzles with her grandchildren. She loved camping with her family, going to rodeos with her son, Todd, and reading fiction novels. Most importantly she loved God and attended Faith Free Will Baptist until it closed in 2013. She then made First Baptist of Ramona her new church home.

She is survived by her husband, Loren Clinton Asbury, of Ramona; children Nory Asbury and wife Misty of Bartlesville, Todd Asbury and wife Kami of Ramona; 7 grandchildren Jaden, Tierney, Lauren, Rhea, Kyan, Noah, and Eli Asbury; Brother Lawrence Angle and wife Diana, 4 sisters, Bonnie Stalnaker, Donna Logan, Thelma Jernigan, and Barbara McMartin and her husband Lloyd.

Oleta is also survived by extended family and friends along with the ones she took in like her own, Kyle McCullough, Thea and son Austin Dye, Michael Reynolds, and many more.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10-8 and Thursday 9-12 at Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Rd., Bartlesville.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, at the First Baptist Church in Ramona, with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating.
