Barton "Bart" Lee Armstrong
January 3, 1959 - January 23, 2023

Barton "Bart" Lee Armstrong, 64, passed away at his home in rural Osage County on Monday, January 23, 2023.

Bart was born January 3, 1959, in Bartlesville, to Willie "Bill" Edward Armstrong and Anna Sue (Hawkins) Armstrong. He was the youngest of three children and grew up on a ranch. As a small child, Bart enjoyed riding around in the pasture on his Shetland Pony singing "Davy Crockett." Worrying about Bart spooking the cattle, Bill would send Bart back to the house to "help" Sue.

Bart attended grade school at Bowring and graduated high school in Pawhuska in 1977. He played basketball and loved his shop class in high school. He was also involved in 4-H. After high school graduation, he hauled hay to help pay for his college. He attended college at Miami, Oklahoma, and then at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Agriculture Economics.

After college, he started working on pulling units in the oil fields. Later, he started employment in the farming industry by applying fertilizer to farmland for Sedan Farm Supply.

Bart enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and some hunting. He was a great guy and always had a story to tell. Bart was intelligent and well-read. He loved history and was an out-of-the-box thinker. His sister, Billie, referred to Bart as her "funny" brother. He was both goofy and very loving.

Bart is survived by his sister, Billie Sue Hand; his brother, Neal Armstrong; two nieces, Kristin Hudson and her husband Clinton, and JoEllen Armstrong; a nephew, Shane Hand and his wife Christina; three great-nieces, Bella Hand, Maddy Hudson, and Baylee Hudson; three great-nephews, Jaxon Hand, Korbin Hudson and Grady Smith.

Visitation will be held from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006, 918-333-7665.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel with Reverend Philip Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Ramona Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel.
