Doris Faye Young was born on May 17, 1928 at Glenoak, Oklahoma to Leroy
Glen Pierce and Sylvian (McGuire) Pierce. She was raised in the Oglesby
area and attended Pleasant Valley School and graduated from Ramona High
School in 1946. She married Henry Young at Bartlesville, OK February 8,
1947.
She was member of the Oglesby Assembly of God Church. She served a
children’s church teacher, Sunday School teacher and as Sunday School
secretary.
Doris is survived by her children Vickie Sigler, Bartlesville, Marlene
(Jim) Rogers, Broken Arrow, Stephen Young, Oglesby and Peter (Valerie)
Young, Bartlesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, daughter Glenda Stevens,
grandsons John Thomas and Cody Young. Parents Leroy and Sylvia Pierce
and step-mother Lorraine Pierce. Brothers Hollis Pierce, Harold Pierce,
James Pierce, Robert Pierce, George Pierce, Donald McGuire, David
McGuire and sister Enda Humphries.
Pallbearers are Philip Young, Kenneth Young, Eric Vermillion, Marty
Hill, Conner Young and Andy Keller. Honorary pallbearers are Kaitlyn
Vermillion, Seth Young, Haylee Vermillion, Sean Young, Sierra Hill and
Samuel Hill.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 and Tuesday, November
13, 2018 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at Stumpff Funeral Home.
Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Oglesby
Assembly of God Church at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at the
Oglesby cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oglesby
Assembly of God Church or to the American Heart Association.
