Douglas Wendell Partain, age 71, of Copan passed away October 15, 2015. He was born January 4th, 1944 in Goosecreek, TX to Lewis and Rhoda (Kulchinski) Partain. Doug was raised and received his education in Nowata, OK, graduating in 1963. After graduation Doug was called to service by the US Army. Upon completion of his service he worked at many jobs including Granger Electric, National Zinc, and most recently Washington County, from where he retired. On May 17th, 1985 Doug married the love of his life, Cathy Blom. He became an instant family man. Together they raised Rene', Matt and Liz. One of Doug's passions was calf roping, which he pursued throughout his adult life. In his later years he took up the game of golf, which he loved. This was done in between being "Mr. Fix-It" and the Master Teaser. Doug never met a stranger. He had a smile for everyone he met. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Bill.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy, of the home, daughter, Rene' and husband Dan Fesmire of Scottsdale, AZ, son, Matt Blom of Windsor, CO and daughter, Liz Blom of Bartlesville. Doug is also survived by the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Olivia Rene', Gavin Wendell, Mitchell Lee and Maddie Kay.
Surviving siblings for Doug are, sister Trouba Odom of Turin, GA, brothers Steve Partain of Nowata and Dennis Partain of Henryetta, and sister Rhonda Kmiec of Walnut, KS. Also surviving Doug is his dear mother-in-law, Shirley Baldwin, as well as many family and friends.
Services will be Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville.
Full Military Honors were presented at the gravesite by the members of the Military Honor Detail of the James H. Teel American Legion Post in Bartlesville with military service at the Oglesby Cemetery.
