Marvin Wooster passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at 87 years of age.
Marvin Jay Wooster was born April 5, 1928 in Bartlesville, OK to Jack and Lillie (Easter) Wooster. Due to the untimely death of his mother during childbirth, he was raised from infancy by his grandparents, Dora and W.H. Foster of Ochelata where he helped run the family dairy business.
He graduated from Ochelata High School in 1946 and received the Valedictorian award of his graduating class. He attended two years of Junior College in Bartlesville before joining the Air Force and receiving an honorable discharge. He returned to Ochelata and continued to run the Foster Dairy until the death of his grandparents.
He as a member of the Moose Lodge for 15 years serving as Sergeant of Arms for their ritual team and as bingo caller. He helped establish the Ochelata Sportsman Club and was an active member holding all offices at one point in time. In 1998 he was honored with a Life Time Membership.
Mr. Wooster worked for the Magna Foundry for 13 years before joining the Washington County District 2 in 1983. He retired from the county after 16 years to take care of his ailing wife for the next 5 years. He then returned to work part time for the Washington County Maintenance Department.
Marvin is survived by his stepdaughters: Barbara Pitblado of Long Beach, CA, Nancy DeShazo of Claremore and Janet DeShazo of Shawnee. Marvin was blessed with four grandchildren: Tana Blanco, Jeff Pitblado, Patricia Backlund, Lauren Santos, 11 great grandchildren and many friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, parents, Lillie and Jack Wooster, and grandparents, W.H. and Dora Foster.
Arrangements were under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
