DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Saturday Donnie “Don” Ray Werts, lifelong resident of Bartlesville, died in his home at age 68.

Donnie Ray Werts was born the son of Hallet V. and Ethel G. “Cricket” (Melton) Werts on June 21, 1949. Don graduated from College High in 1967 and soon after married his high school sweetheart Linda Shull on March 25, 1968. Don worked various jobs before starting his 30-year career with Orkin, retiring in 2001. He was the #1 Orkin Man for the District and won many memorable trips to places like St. Thomas, Arizona, Mexico, Florida and California. He was a passionate car guy, attending car shows and collecting die cast cars. Definitely a Chevy man, he loved sports cars particularly Firebirds and Impalas, as well as Chevy pickups. He always bought the coolest used cars and kept them meticulously clean, never allowing eating or drinking in his babies.
Don shared his love of cars with his kids, helping them acquire their first cars and fixing them up. He was a good father and grandfather. When the kids were young they camped and he was active in school activities and sporting activities for his children and grandchildren. Don and Linda were married almost 50 years, and of all the houses (and businesses) he protected, Don made sure theirs was a safe and loving home for his family.

Don is survived by his beloved wife Linda of the home; two children Kimberly Ivie and Kenneth of Nowata, and Donny Ray Werts II and Melissa of Bartlesville; one sister Linda Savage and Jerry of Bartlesville; and five grandchildren Keeleigh Ivie, D.J. Werts III, Kollin Ivie, Kenadee Ivie, and Kamryn Ivie; as well as a host of other friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Randy Lee Werts

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, from 10-8. Don’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, from 6-8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wed., Oct. 25, at the Ochelata Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Don’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
