Victor L. Scullawl Sr, 93, resident of Ochelata, passed away on Tuesday morning Oct. 13th, 2015 at his home in the Matoaka area, from an extended illness.
Vic was born on November 19, 1921 in Ochelata, Oklahoma to the former Richard (Dickie) and Maggie Scullawl. Vic married the former Jane G. Revard June 24, 1946 in Chautauqua Kansas and they lived in the Matoaka area. They had three children.
He spent his working career working in the press rooms of several newspapers in southern and eastern Texas and the Tulsa World. He finished his working life with the City Of Bartlesville as a water plant operator.
He was a veteran VIC of WW II serving with the United States Army Air Corp where he was honorably discharged at the rank of PFC with the Sq A 2532nd.
His retirement was spent enjoying his passion for baseball by traveling with his sons, grandson, and great grandson to major league games. He loved family gatherings and constant discussions concerning his family sitting on his front porch on his little farm. His passionate subjects were kids, grand kids, great-grand kids, hunting, fishing, pool, and sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, his parents, and two half-brothers on his father's side and his granddaughter, Shelly Brown. He is survived by one sister, Emma Lou Grey of Ochelata, one brother, Elmer Scullawl of Arizona, three children and their spouses; Victor and Evelyn Scullawl of Bartlesville, Lucinda and David Jimison of Cleveland, Dean and Marlesha Scullawl of Bentonville, Ar., 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Matoaka Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday October 20, 2015, with Chaplain Terry Snelling of the Good Shepherd Hospice officiating, under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Full Military Honors will be presented at the Memorial Service by the members of the Military Honor Guard of Bartlesville American Legion Post #105.
