George Sanford Parker, 82, of Bartlesville, OK, died Wednesday surrounded by family.

George was born the son of Henry Key and Mary Christina (Tennent) Parker in Nowata County on February 24, 1935. He attended Witwer School in rural Nowata until the age of eight, then attended Trusket School, SE of Bartlesville, and later Central High in Bartlesville. George entered the construction business and for several years operated Parker Plumbing and Parker Homes Construction.

George was introduced to Lois Marie Allen by his sister after he set eyes on Lois at church one day. They quickly fell in love and were united in marriage on February 17, 1956 and enjoyed 61 years of loving marriage. They moved to Illinois for a short while then back to Bartlesville. George received his call to the ministry later in life. He joined the mission field in Mesa, Arizona, and served on the Mesa and Lehi Indian Reservation a total of seven years.
George was known for his work ethic - he loved to work and was a faithful provider for his family. He also shared his construction talents with the Ochelata Bible Holiness Church and Youth Camp, as well as the Independence Bible School and other local churches and projects. George loved his family and spending time with them camping and fishing. But most of all George loved the Lord and serving Him every day.

DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Lois Marie Parker, 83, of Bartlesville, died Wednesday in Bartlesville. Sanctified by grace, Lois is now home with her Lord and Savior.

Lois was born the daughter of Oliver Franklin and Zola Cora (Holt) Allen on January 12, 1937 in Sarcoxie, MO. Her father was a Fire Baptized Holiness Pastor, which meant she was raised all over Missouri and Oklahoma. Lois fondly remembered playing with her brothers and sisters, climbing trees which she still knew she could do and growing up attending revivals with her father. For her final year of high school Lois attended the Independence Bible School graduating in 1954. Friendships were formed during this time that have lasted a lifetime. Her faith and church family were always central to her spirit-filled life and she had a firm foundation from a young age.

At church one day, a young man George Parker set eyes on lovely Lois and his sister introduced them to each other. Lois and George quickly fell in love, were united in holy matrimony on February 17, 1956, and enjoyed 61 years of loving marriage. The Parkers moved to Illinois for a short while, then returned to Bartlesville.

After a career in construction and plumbing, George received his call to the ministry later in life. With Lois by his side, George joined the mission field in Mesa, Arizona, and they served on the Mesa and Lehi Indian Reservation for a total of seven years. George preceded Lois in death on March 22, 2017.

God gave Lois many talents, many of which were uncovered and nurtured by her own flesh and blood. Lois’s father taught her to play guitar and she taught herself how to play the piano, singing with her sisters. Lois used her gifts in the church, sometimes in worship and other times serving in the various ministries of the church, wherever and whenever she could. Like George, Lois was a good and faithful servant of God, and a witness for us all.

Lois loved being a wife and mother and her life’s calling was to be a devoted caregiver. She sewed, crocheted and took care of everyone around her, oftentimes becoming a mother to those she cared for. Her home was always open, and you knew Lois was ready to welcome you in. Most of all Lois loved the Lord and serving Him every day. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and home church family at Bible Holiness Church in Bartlesville.

Lois is survived by her two children, Allen Parker and Kathleen of Bartlesville, and Janet Jackson and Gary of Drumright, OK; two brothers, Rev. Gerald “Jody” Allen and Margaret, and Donald Lee Allen and Patty; four grandchildren, Alex Parker of Bartlesville, Holly Arender and Timothy of Oklahoma City, Ryan Jackson and Tracie of Noblesville, IN, and Jordan Jackson and Madison of Bloomington, IN; and eight great grandchildren, Hadlee, Tanner, Trace, Harlee, Havynn, Sawyer, Ryder and River. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Roland “Bud” Allen and John Dale Allen, and two sisters, Norma Callaway and Lenora Ann Alvarado.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12-5 and Monday 9-11 at the Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ochelata Youth Camp, 201 S West St., Ochelata, OK 74051.
Services will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, at the Ochelata Holiness Church, with Rev. Gary Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ochelata Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Knipmeyer officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with the family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
